BEGINNING WATERCOLOR PENCIL TIPS AND TECHNIQUES

Water color pencils combine the best of two worlds; water color paint and colored pencil.
They are very portable and allow precise control and detail as colored pencils, yet they dissolve and blend into vibrant colors when water is added.
These pencils are the perfect travel media.
Come to Elsewise Art and learn multiple tips for using watercolor pencils.
*wet and/or dry techniques
*mixing colors
*try different papers and pencil brands
Combine techniques during the first half of the class.
Students will work on a painting the second half.

COLOR THEORY using Colored Pencils

In the first half of class we will explore how colors influence and interact with each other.
you will discover fundamentals such as shades, tones and values, warms and cools, analogous, monochromatic, primary-secondary-tertiary, complementary.
Learn basic color concepts and create a color wheel. 
​And in the second half you will use this information to create a piece to take home.
