Try and Try and Try Again

Attempting to create an Image for my page.

First attempt at self-portrait- background coming along nicely, face is too pink, eyes a bit wonky, way too much hair is gonna be on that head. Try again.

I Try and I Try and I am Very Hard to Please.

Second attempt at self-portrait -same photo inspiration, better skin tone- coming along right eye- (left eye to you, the viewer) needed help and then that side of face looks kinda caved in- OKAY - not working out

Third try- new approach. Still a self-portrait, from an old photo. mmmm.....No. Electric eraser is greying out the black paper, jawline is off. Well phooey!

Four- well I kinda want to represent Left and Right Brain- that's SORT of self-portrait right... but yea...no. Don't like this one either. (I DO like the "Whenever O'Clock though)

At this point I am getting really annoyed with myself. Just DO this thing already.
The drawings are not coming out as I wish- so let's go with my love- Collage.
All right! Let's DO this thing!!!

That's it. That's the One. My Left and My Right= My WHOLE Brain.
TaDa!!

What can I say about my love of collages?
A lot probably but I'll try to keep it simple.

I love searching thru my paper ephemera- text and images-
choosing.
arranging.
re-arranging.
commiting.
completing.
it's soothing.
it's zen.
